The Dallas Mavericks have reached an agreement with free-agent center Samuel Dalembert, Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Dalembert will earn the veteran's minimum - worth $1.49 million - on a one-year deal.

Mavericks fans should be familiar with Dalembert after the center appeared in 80 games for Dallas in 2013-14. The Haitian center is a slow-footed rim protector who offers little on the offensive end.

Dalembert was shipped to the New York Knicks last summer as part of the Tyson Chandler trade. He played 32 games in the Big Apple before being waived.

The 34-year-old gives the Mavericks a known quantity in a roster increasingly populated by low-risk flyers. Dalembert knows his role in the league and stays within himself. Given his familiarity with Dallas and the Mavericks' desperate need for production from their centers, Dalembert makes for a logical addition.

Dalembert averaged four points and 5.3 rebounds in 17 minutes per game last season. He held opponents to 45.4 percent shooting at the rim, a mark on par with the likes of Hassan Whiteside (46.5 percent) and Taj Gibson (45.5 percent).
