Report: Bucks, Copeland agree to 1-year deal

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

The Milwaukee Bucks and free-agent forward Chris Copeland have reportedly agreed to terms on a one-year contract, according to Bleacher Report's Jared Zwerling.

The deal, which was reportedly close to completion earlier this week, is worth more than $1.1 million, according to Real GM's Shams Charania.

Copeland's disappointing 2014-15 season came to an end when he was stabbed outside a New York nightclub on April 8.

The 31-year-old, who showed promise with the New York Knicks in 2012-13 and Indiana Pacers in 2013-14, averaged 6.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, and an assist in 50 games with the Pacers this past season.

No facet of Copeland's game suffered more in his third-year slump than his shooting, with his 3-point conversion rate plummeting to 31.1 percent after knocking down 42 percent of his long-range attempts through his first two campaigns.

Copeland has never been a strong defender, but on a Bucks team overflowing with length and defensive ability, Milwaukee would be thrilled if the combo-forward simply regained his shooting touch to go with his solid ball handling abilities for his size.
