The trade of power forward David Lee from the Golden State Warriors to the Boston Celtics is on course to be completed by the end of the weekend, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

The deal, first reported on July 7, will send little-used 14-year NBA veteran Gerald Wallace from the Celtics to the Warriors. Golden State could either "stretch" the final year of Wallace's contract and release him, or keep him around as veteran insurance.

Lee, 32, lost his starting job at the four this season to breakout star Draymond Green, as the NBA champion Warriors embraced what was basically position-less basketball. While not a rim protector by any stretch, Lee is a solid offensive power forward with only one year left on his contract.

Where he'll fit into a Boston frontcourt that now includes fellow bigs Amir Johnson, Tyler Zeller, Jared Sullinger, and Kelly Olynyk remains to be seen.
