Unrestricted free agent Darrell Arthur is returning to the Denver Nuggets, according to the Denver Post's Christopher Dempsey.

Arthur, 27, spent the last two years in the Mile High City after being acquired from the Memphis Grizzlies in June 2013.

The 6-foot-9 power forward averaged 6.6 points and 2.9 rebounds in 58 appearances off the bench last season.

The Los Angeles Clippers had previously been linked to Arthur, but ultimately fixed their frontcourt depth issues by signing Cole Aldrich and Josh Smith.

Denver is in the process of finalizing a reported two-year, $34 million extension with Danilo Galinari, leaving roughly $2.5 million in the budget for Arthur.
