Jennings (Achilles) may not be ready when the team opens the season in October, MLive.com reports.

Analysis:

Stan Van Gundy offered a brief update on Jennings' status recently, stating that the point guard continues to rehab in Las Vegas. "Obviously still not at the point of running or anything," Van Gundy said. "Can start to do a little bit more activity all the time. We're hopeful." Jennings tore his Achilles in January and initially hoped to be ready for the start of training camp. "We've still got about 14 weeks before the season opens," Van Gundy said. "We've got a long time. We're hoping that he will be back and ready to play but it may not be at the beginning of the year. We'll just have to see." At this point, it's still too early to assign Jennings a firm return timeline, and his status will continue to be monitored over the next two months leading up to training camp.
