Rockets re-sign K.J. McDaniels to reported 3-year, $10M deal

The Houston Rockets have re-signed restricted free agent K.J. McDaniels to a multiyear deal, the team announced.
The deal is reportedly for $10 million over three years, according to Mark Berman of Fox 26 Houston.
McDaniels' agent confirmed the news after the shooting guard announced it on Twitter.
McDaniels played only 10 games for the Rockets after being acquired from the Philadelphia 76ers at the trade deadline. In Philly, the 2014 second-round pick was a revelation of sorts, averaging 9.2 points and going on an early-season shot-blocking tear.
McDaniels bet big on himself by turning down a traditional four-year contract - with two years unguaranteed - from the 76ers after being drafted last year, instead choosing to take a one-year, non-guaranteed tender.
"I had faith in myself," McDaniels said. "I felt like I belonged and did a good job proving that."
Now he'll reportedly earn approximately $3.3 million per season. The Rockets' deal does not include an option, according to the report.
McDaniels is an athletic 6-foot-6 wing who figures to become a much bigger part of Houston's rotation, especially after the departure of key bench component Josh Smith.
The loss of Smith appears to have opened up things up for McDaniels, who reportedly also had interest from the New Orleans Pelicans.
