The Houston Rockets retained veteran Corey Brewer on a multi-year deal Tuesday, the team announced.

Terms of the agreement were not released, but it was previously reported that the pact is for three years and $24 million.

Brewer, 29, has averaged 10.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.4 steals since starting his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2007-08.

Known primarily for his defensive talents, Brewer ranked 11th among all players in steal percentage last season. Sporting a career steals per game average of 1.4, the Florida product has incredible instincts which enable him to get in passing lanes and pick pockets with ease.

The Rockets recently re-signed fellow defensive stalwart Patrick Beverley, brought in journeyman Marcus Thornton, and are reportedly closing in on sharpshooter Jason Terry.

Rockets general manager Daryl Morey is seemingly intent on maintaining and strengthening a serviceable supporting cast for superstars James Harden and Dwight Howard.

Rockets and Brewer fans can rejoice, as they will be treated to more of this for the foreseeable future.
