Magic re-sign Tobias Harris to reported 4-year, $64-million deal

The Orlando Magic locked up swingman Tobias Harris with a long-term extension Tuesday, the team announced.
Terms of the deal were not released, but Harris reportedly signed a four-year, $64-million pact to remain in Orlando.
Harris is a talented scorer coming off a career year. Sometimes, he has a tendency to overshoot, but has played the majority of his career without much supporting talent on the Magic. Harris can also handle the ball and create his own shot.
Defensively, Harris grades out as below average, but he has the physical tools to defend both the wing and on the block. The hiring of head coach Scott Skiles should help Harris improve on defense.
Locking in Harris could block the development of forward Aaron Gordon (drafted fourth overall in 2014) and small forward Mario Hezonja (No. 5 overall in 2015). But Harris is just 22 and his contract could become a steal when the salary cap rises in the coming years.
The Detroit Pistons and Boston Celtics were reportedly chasing Harris, but his status as a restricted free agent might have prevented them from presenting an offer sheet.
The 6-foot-8 forward averaged career highs in points (17.1), rebounds (6.3), and 3-point percentage (36.4) last season.
