Report: Austin Rivers, Clippers agree to 2-year, $6.4M deal

Austin Rivers can now move out of his parents' guest house.
The 22-year-old and the Los Angeles Clippers have agreed to a two-year, $6.4-million contract, reported Yahoo Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski on Sunday.
The deal comes on the heels of recent reports that the Clips were planning on retaining Rivers' services. Austin's father, Glenn "Doc" Rivers, happens to be the team's president and head coach, thus making the "fly on the wall" position in the negotiation room highly sought after among NBA fans.
When the younger Rivers stated he would "look at all (his) options" and "consult (his) family" as the free agency period opened in early July, one could've only imagined what such "consultations" would look like considering the familial ties between employer and employee.
After being acquired by the Clippers in a three-team trade in January, the former 10th pick in the 2012 NBA Draft strengthened his worth in the league by filling-in admirably for starting point guard Chris Paul.
Austin averaged 8.4 points and produced a 12.9 PER during the Clippers' 14-game playoff run this past season.
The combo guard will likely share secondary ball-handling duties with newly acquired teammate Lance Stephenson in 2015-16.
