Marc Gasol: Expected To Remain In Memphis

Gasol is expected to remain in Memphis although he's still working out the details of his new contract, David Aldridge of NBA.com reports.

Analysis:

Gasol spent his first seven seasons in the NBA with the Grizzlies and it appears that he'll stay loyal to the only fan base he's ever known. He's coming off arguably the best statistical campaign of his career, compiling averages of 17.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 1.6 blocks after 81 appearances where he played 33 minutes per game. Assuming a deal will indeed get finalized, the Spaniard is in line for a similar season as he continues to play alongside Zach Randolph in the Memphis frontcourt.
