Luol Deng: Opts In For 2015-16

Deng will remain with the Heat for the 2015-16 season after opting into his contract Monday, Joseph Goodman of the Miami Herald reports.

Analysis:

Deng is now slated to spend his second year in Miami after his inaugural season with the Heat didn't go as planned. He averaged 14.0 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 0.9 steals, and 0.3 blocks per game in 72 games. While Deng remains the favorite to start at small forward, incoming rookie Justise Winslow could provide some competition for time on the court as the aging Englishman will be entering his 12th year in the NBA.
