Monroe said he will meet with the Celtics, Knicks, Bucks, Lakers and Trail Blazers this week, also acknowledging that the Pistons are unlikely to pursue him, The Advocate reports. "Stan [Van Gundy] had smaller teams in Orlando years ago," Monroe said. "[Andre Drummond] is like Dwight Howard. So Stan wants to put good players around him. The team has different plans, and I respect that. I don't want to be anywhere I'm not wanted."

Analysis:

The Pistons likely want Andre Drummond playing next to a power forward with better shooting range, which makes Monroe more valuable to other teams. A split makes sense for both sides, and while Monroe's style of play isn't a fit everywhere, he's still one of the better big men on the market and will thus draw plenty of interest. As will be the case for many of the top free agents this offseason, Monroe said he's looking for a two-year deal that includes a player option.
