We're not entirely sure what the key to a city unlocks, but the piece of hardware often gifted by civic leaders is pretty sweet nevertheless.
David Lee, fresh off an NBA championship with the Golden State Warriors, was in his hometown of St. Louis on Sunday and received a key to the city from Mayor Francis Slay prior to the Cardinals' game against the Chicago Cubs.
He also threw out the ceremonial first pitch. The game then promptly was delayed by inclement weather.
Lee is on the trading block this summer as the Warriors seek to re-sign Draymond Green.
