Gordon is leaning toward opting into the final year of his contract with the Pelicans, the New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Analysis:

Gordon said earlier in the week that he's yet to make a decision, but he's expected to make up his mind by June 21. Should Gordon opt in, he'll make $15.5 million in the final year of the four-year, $58 million deal he signed with the Hornets in 2012. The oft-injured shooting guard missed 21 games last season due to a torn labrum in his left shoulder but he returned to play the team's final 41 games. While he averaged a career-low 13.4 points per game, Gordon shot a career-best 44.8 percent from three-point range.
