Warriors' championship parade would be held in Oakland if they win

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

The location of the championship parade has been determined. Now all that's left to do is win the NBA Finals.

Oakland mayor Libby Schaaf revealed Friday that should the Golden State Warriors defeat the Cleveland Cavaliers for the 2014-15 NBA Championship, a celebratory parade would be held in Oakland.

That's not surprising considering the Warriors play out of Oracle Arena in Oakland, but they're generally considered to be the Bay Area's team, and there had been some discussion that a championship parade could include both Oakland and San Francisco. Under such scenario, the Warriors would have begun in Oakland before traveling across San Francisco Bay by barge.

Schaaf did not address the far more pressing question facing a championship celebration: Would Papa Roach get the nod to perform, or would E-40 do the honors?

The city of Oakland is definitely ready for a championship, if early ticket prices are any indication. The Warriors, who are heavily favored over the Cavaliers, have been setting unofficial records for average Game 1 and 2 resale ticket prices.
