PHOTO: Pistons' Drummond escorts teen fan to prom

It wasn't the most romantic promposal, but it was effective nonetheless.

When Michigan native Raquel Smith tweeted Andre Drummond asking for a prom date, the Pistons center told her she needed 12,000 retweets in two weeks to make it happen.

Smith came up 46 retweets short over a period of four months, but Drummond didn't hold it against her, arriving in style for the West Bloomfield School District event on Wednesday.

Ever the gentleman, Drummond even went through with the tradition of exchanging boutonniere and corsage:

Drummond, who showed up in a white Porsche, remained at the party for nearly two hours, talking and posing for pictures with students and staff members, according to the Detroit Free Press.
