Kobe compares stopping Curry to solving a riddle

Gary A. Vasquez / USA TODAY Sports

Wardell Stephen Curry II has accrued many nicknames during his rise to superstardom: Steph, Baby-Faced Assassin, Chef Curry, The Cheat Code.

Kobe Bryant may have just given the MVP a new moniker - The Riddle.

Given that more than 48 percent of Curry's field-goal attempts this season came from 3-point territory, and that more than 68 percent of his playoff shots have either come from deep or from the restricted area, it's tough to say these are the shots opposing defenses want him to take.

Nevertheless, Bryant's point is understood. Curry is comfortable taking virtually any shot, and that's a problem for the team on the other side of the floor.

As Kobe has surely learned as a Pacific Division rival, stopping Curry is an enigma, a mystery wrapped in a riddle.

On another note, it's nice to see an aging Hall of Famer on his way out, especially one as fiercely competitive as The Black Mamba, openly praising and appreciating younger greatness.
