Kyrie Irving: (Knee) Says He'll 'Definitely' Play Game 1

Irving (knee) told reporters Monday that he will definitely play in Wednesday's Game 1 against the Hawks, Dave McMenamin of ESPN reports.

Analysis:

Irving is the beneficiary of a six-day break between series for the Cavs, who closed out the Bulls in six games last week. The point guard is dealing with tendinitis in his knee and a sprained foot, and he appeared to aggravate the injuries in that Game 6 win over Chicago, in which he didn't play in the second half. After resting and receiving extensive treatment, Irving said he's encouraged by how he feels Monday, and he'll have another day to prepare before the series gets underway from Atlanta on Wednesday night.
