NBA says Hawks' Kyle Korver did not travel on final possession vs. Wizards

Brad Penner / USA TODAY Sports

The last few moments of the Atlanta Hawks' Game 4 victory over the Washington Wizards on Monday contained excitement, desperation and relief, but no travel.

When Atlanta's Kyle Korver stopped short to pass the ball to Paul Millsap before falling over, the officials - to the surprise of many - did not call a travel. On Tuesday, the league deemed that the correct call.

With all the strange calls we've seen made during these playoffs... This doesn't get called?

According to the NBA Officiating Last Two Minute Report:

Korver (ATL) slides when receiving the inbound pass. Players that fall to the floor while holding the ball (or stopping) may not gain an advantage by sliding. No call is correct as no advantage is gained.

But don't ask Washington's Bradley Beal, who saw it as a clear travel. "Yeah, but they didn't call it," Beal said when asked about Korver's last-second movements. "Oh well."
