J.R. Smith is back.

After serving his two-game suspension for a spinning backfist that leveled Boston's Jae Crowder, the shooting guard will return to help his team attempt to take the lead in the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Chicago Bulls.

"We're getting one of our main guys back, a guy who knows how to play, a guy who's been a big contributor and a guy who fits in with us," coach David Blatt said on Thursday. "I don't see any negative in that, only a positive."

The 29-year-old has been preparing to deliver a monster performance Friday, telling media that he got a lot of shots up since his last game on April 26.

"If I was sitting around moping, it wouldn't help anybody," Smith said.

Smith's teammate Iman Shumpert will also play.

The Cavs wing was at risk of missing Game 3 after he suffered a strained left groin in the third quarter of Wednesday's Game 2 victory. Ultimately able to return to the game, he remained positive after the win, stating that "it's going to take a lot of doctors to tell me not to play Game 3."

True to his word, Blatt told reporters Friday that Shumpert will play in Game 3.

But Shumpert admitted that he was unsure whether he would see any action on the hardwood in front of his hometown crowd in Chicago.

"I'm going to do everything I can to go," Shumpert said, while stating that he will need to test the injury before the game.

Shumpert has averaged 18.5 points per game in the series, while shooting 47 percent from beyond the arc.
