Analysis:

The Pistons got off to a horrendous start to the season, but Jennings was one of the primary reasons they were able to temporarily right the ship after annexing Josh Smith. During a 10-game stretch in which the Pistons went 9-1 and surged into the Eastern Conference playoff discussion, Jennings averaged 20.3 points, 7.0 assists and 2.9 rebounds while shooting 47 percent from the field and 42.2 percent from three. It was easily his best stretch of the season and arguably the most consistent stretch of his career. Jennings' numbers regressed a bit over the next week, but he posted a ridiculous 24-point, 21-assist line on Jan. 21, the last full game he'd play before the injury. Jennings was given a 6-to-9 month recovery timetable, so he'll likely be ready right around the time the 2015-16 season kicks off. As of mid-March he had begun weight training, and the rehab appears to be progressing as expected. Jennings enters the offseason with one year remaining on the three-year deal he signed with Detroit in the summer of 2013. His future with the franchise is murky at this point, however, after the Pistons traded for restricted-free-agent-to-be, Reggie Jackson, at the deadline. If Jackson re-signs with Detroit, Jennings would likely become expendable, meaning the Pistons may look to deal his expiring contract. If they opt to hold onto Jennings, it's likely he'll come off the bench behind Jackson as he works his way back from the Achilles injury.
