LeBron James continues to work his way up the NBA record books.

With a layup in the third quarter of Sunday's Game 3 victory over the Atlanta Hawks, his 17th and 18th points of the contest, James moved past Karl Malone for sixth in all-time playoff scoring.

He'd finish the game with 37 points on a career-high 37 field goal attempts, pushing his career postseason total to 4,782 in just 171 games.

With those 4,782 career postseason points, James now trails only Tim Duncan, Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Michael Jordan on the all-time leaderboard.

Player Games Points PPG
Michael Jordan 179 5987 33.4
Kareem Abdul-Jabbar 237 5762 24.3
Kobe Bryant 220 5640 25.6
Shaquille O'Neal 216 5250 24.3
Tim Duncan 241 5113 21.2
LeBron James 171 4782 28.0
Karl Malone 193 4761 24.7
Jerry West 153 4457 29.1

James also recorded his 12th career postseason triple-double Sunday, moving him past Jason Kidd for second all-time. Magic Johnson leads the way with 30 such performances.

Making James' performance all the more impressive, The King actually started Sunday's Game 3 shooting 0-for-10 from the field.
