Kidd on Bucks winning Game 4: 'Everything from here on out is a bonus'

Benny Sieu / USA TODAY Sports

In his postgame press conference after a wild Game 4 on Saturday, minutes after drawing up the play that saved the Milwaukee Bucks' season, head coach Jason Kidd spoke the truth about where his young, overachieving team is at.

That the Bucks are playing with house money may not be anything revelatory - they're a season removed from winning a league-low 15 games, after all - but it's rare to hear a coach so candidly come out and say, essentially, "We're just happy to be here."

You'd expect something more along the lines of what Jerryd Bayless (who hit the game-winning layup in Game 4) is slinging.

The Bucks still need something close to a miracle to come back and beat the Bulls, who lead them 3-1 with the series heading back to Chicago. But so far in their unexpected playoff appearance, they've looked far from a wide-eyed team just enjoying the ride. In fact, they've given the Bulls all they can handle.

Given how tight things were down the stretch in Game 2, and that Game 3 was decided in double-overtime, there's a case to be made that the talented young Bucks are unlucky to be leaving Milwaukee in a hole.
