Spurs' Baynes won't play in Game 3 on Friday

Blake Griffin will need to find someone else to serve as his dunk prop on Friday night.

San Antonio Spurs center Aron Baynes won't take the court in Game 3 against the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday due to a sprained ankle, reports Brad Turner of the Los Angeles Times.

Baynes logged 20 minutes in Game 1 and was rather unsuccessful in his attempts to slow Griffin down. Baynes was also ineffective on offense as he scored just five points on 2-of-7 shooting.

However, Baynes's injury does put further stress on the Spurs' frontcourt, which has struggled to contain Griffin and DeAndre Jordan. Tiago Splitter has also been slowed by injury, leaving Tim Duncan and Boris Diaw to do most of the heavy lifting on defense. Duncan and Diaw are averaging 37 and 33 minutes, respectively.
