League confirms refs missed call on Curry's game-tying 3

Those that witnessed the Golden State Warriors' improbable fourth-quarter comeback in New Orleans on Thursday know that the Dubs should've had a chance to win the game in regulation, not just overtime.

Stephen Curry was clearly fouled by Anthony Davis while knocking down his game-tying three.

No foul was called on the play, fueling further debate about late whistles in the NBA, with the perception being that officials sometimes wait to see whether the ball goes in before determining whether to call a foul.

Those who subscribe to the theory may be onto something, according to the Bay Area News Group's Marcus Thompson.

A play is either a foul or it isn't, and the fact some refs don't see it that way is infuriating for players, coaches, executives and fans just looking for consistency from possession to possession, let alone game to game.

The Warriors went on to win Game 3 in overtime, but the Pelicans shouldn't have had the opportunity to play on - assuming Curry nailed his free throw.

The league's Last Two Minute Report later confirmed that the non-call was incorrect.

According to the report: "Davis (NOP) makes contact with Curry (GSW) prior to his landing. A player's shooting motion continues until he returns to the floor."
