Playoff rivalry develops between Raptors' Kyle Lowry, Wizards' John Wall

Kyle Lowry and John Wall cannot escape comparisons to each other.

Prevalent in the Toronto Raptors' first-round series against the Washington Wizards, the point guards, who started together in the All-Star Game, seem to have formed a rivalry fueled by competition, Washington Times' Todd Dybas reports.

"We always been pretty cool, but we're two competitive people," Wall told the media ahead of Washington's Game 2 in Toronto.

Wall and Lowry have walked different professional paths, with Wall the 2010 No. 1 pick overall to the Wizards, while Lowry was a low first-round pick and shuffled teams twice to land with the Raptors.

Both players had rough Game 1s on Saturday. Lowry racked up only seven points, but picked up six personal fouls and would leave the game going just 2-of-10 from the field. Wall had a strong block on Lowry, but would leave Washington's victory sinking 5-of-18.

"We're trying to compete and take each other's heads off to win the game," continued Wall.

"He's one of those guys that's very confident. He don't care, if he feels like he can make it, he's going to take it. That's one thing he's going to do is keep shooting if he's missing and feel like one shot can change everything. I know that's one thing I have to do is stay locked in on him for 48 minutes."
