Hawks' Horford no lock to play Game 2 with finger injury

Brett Davis-USA TODAY Sports

The Atlanta Hawks were raked over the coals a bit after their Game 1 victory over the Brooklyn Nets for not looking as good as expected.

Now they may have a legitimate concern with center Al Horford's dislocated finger. While X-Rays came back negative on the dislocated digit he suffered Sunday, Horford told reporters Monday that he could possibly miss Game 2 on Wednesday.

"It definitely affected me," Horford said after Game 1. "Having it taped like that around my finger, especially on my shooting hand, was very uncomfortable to shoot the ball."

To make matters worse for the Hawks, Horford's frontcourt mate, Paul Millsap, is still dealing with a shoulder injury and is by his own admission not playing at 100 percent.

The power forward told reporters Monday that he might try and play Wednesday without a protective pad he has been wearing in order to improve his range of motion.

If the Nets are going to have any chance in the series, they need their own frontline of Brook Lopez and Thaddeus Young to dominate the glass.

Millsap reminded media that he is no pushover, however.
