Mavericks' Parsons, Harris to miss regular-season finale Wednesday

The Dallas Mavericks will play their final regular season game Wednesday against the Portland Trail Blazers, and will do so without point guard Devin Harris or small forward Chandler Parsons.

This isn't a big issue in itself since the Mavericks are already locked into the No. 7 seed in the Western Conference. But it's cause for some worry, as the Mavs prepare for the first round of the playoffs this weekend.

Parsons has been out since April 2 with lingering swelling in his right knee, and after suffering a setback on Sunday, will enter the postseason under a cloud of uncertainty and likely with a considerable amount of rust. Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle has admitted to being concerned about Parsons.

Harris suffered a left big toe injury Monday night against the Utah Jazz, and was unable to finish the game. X-rays came back negative, and he was hopeful he'd be back to 100 percent come playoff time.

Given the lack of consistency and stability they've had at the point guard position this season, the Mavericks had better hope so.
