Kings' Cousins out Friday with sore foot

Derick E. Hingle-USA TODAY Sports

The Sacramento Kings have an opportunity to play spoiler against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday, but they'll have to do it without the services of DeMarcus Cousins.

Cousins will miss a third straight game due to a sore right foot that may very well spell the end of the All-Star's season.

The Kings have yet to officially shut Boogie down, but the big man did see a foot specialist on Wednesday, and the team has nothing left to play for over the final week of another lottery-bound season.

Cousins has averaged 24.1 points, 12.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.5 steals while playing the best defense of his career in a truly dominant campaign. But he's played only 59 games due to a variety of injuries and ailments, including meningitis, as well as calf and ankle issues.

Rudy Gay (concussion) and Nik Stauskas (back), who both missed the team's last game on Wednesday, are listed as questionable for the Kings on Friday.
