George on shooting: 'I hurt my leg, not my arms'

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Paul George wasn't too bad at all in his first basketball game in nine months on Sunday, scoring 13 points on 5-of-12 shooting - including 3-of-6 from beyond the arc. After the Indiana Pacers' big 112-89 win over the Miami Heat, George talked about his comeback from the gruesome compound fracture his right leg suffered in a USA Basketball scrimmage last August.

"These fans ... welcoming me back into the game was probably the greatest moment that I've had," George told media at the postgame news conference. He admitted to frequently thinking back to his injury in Las Vegas, and added that hitting his first shot on Sunday - an off-balance jumper off a Roy Hibbert screen - was pretty sweet.

Indianapolis is the center of the basketball universe this weekend, and George got a chance to meet with Duke and USA Basketball coach Mike Krzyzewski before Sunday's game. With his family in town for his comeback, George was also able to celebrate Easter Sunday the traditional way.
