Kings' Gay out Friday and likely Sunday

Kelley L Cox-USA TODAY Sports

Rudy Gay of the Sacramento Kings will not return to action Friday and is also listed as doubtful for Sunday's game, according to James Ham of Cowbell Kingdom.

Gay suffered a concussion in last Monday's loss to his former team, the Memphis Grizzlies, when he took an inadvertent elbow to the head from Marc Gasol. He has yet to pass the league's concussion protocol, and the Kings' second-leading scorer told Ham he's still experiencing headaches and light sensitivity.

The Kings play the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday and the Utah Jazz on Sunday. Gay is averaging 20.9 points this season on 45.5 percent shooting.
