Rudy Gay: (Concussion) Officially Out Friday

Gay (concussion) has officially been ruled out for Friday's game against the Pelicans, James Ham of Cowbell Kingdom reports.

Analysis:

Gay was expected to miss at least 4-to-5 days after entering the concussion protocol earlier in the week, which ruled him out for Wednesday's contest and was expected to hold him out Friday as well. That has now been confirmed as the case, as he'll miss Friday's game, making his next chance to return Sunday against the Jazz. However, the team has no benefit in rushing him back, so it's possible his absence will last longer.
