Blazers' Dorell Wright to miss 4-6 weeks with left hand fracture

And another one.

The Portland Trail Blazers are having some kind of season when it comes to hand and wrist injuries, a string of bad luck that continued Wednesday.

Dorell Wright fractured the fourth metacarpal in his left hand against the Los Angeles Clippers, making him the sixth Blazer to miss time with a hand or wrist injury on the season.

Wright is expected to be sidelined for four-to-six weeks with the injury, meaning he'll likely only see the floor again this season if the Blazers put together a deep playoff run. Wright says he won't require surgery, so assuming his team can stay alive, a return theoretically remains in play.

Wright got some run as a small-ball power forward when LaMarcus Aldridge was sidelined but was primarily used on the wing, which is where his absence will be felt most. While he's averaged just 4.6 points and 2.3 rebounds in 12.3 minutes, he's knocked down 38 percent of his threes, and his role has expanded appreciably since the team lost Wesley Matthews for the season.

With Wright on the shelf, it will once again be next man up for Portland, potentially meaning more playing time for Alonzo Gee or Allen Crabbe.

It may not seem like a crushing blow, but the Blazers were shorthanded already, and losing more manpower could ultimately spell the difference between opening the first round at home or on the road.
