Harden drops 51, Cousins triple-doubles as Rockets edge Kings
What is happening in the NBA this season is special. Virtually every night, somebody seems to be doing something remarkable, and Wednesday was yet another example.
Perhaps motivated by MVP rival Stephen Curry's crossover of Chris Paul on Tuesday, James Harden went off for a career-high 51 points in the Houston Rockets' 115-111 win over the Sacramento Kings. His previous career high - 50 points against the Denver Nuggets - happened less than two weeks ago.
Harden's eight threes also tied a season high. He added eight rebounds and six assists.
As if that performance at the Toyota Center wasn't enough, DeMarcus Cousins of the Kings put on his own show in a losing effort. Cousins registered his first triple-double of the season, with 24 points, 21 rebounds and 10 assists. He added six blocks.
Cousins joins some exclusive company with that line.
