PHOTO: 76ers visit White House, Embiid wears sneakers

Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

The Philadelphia 76ers visited the White House on Tuesday. Needless to say, this was not the customary visit the president extends to championship teams.

But hey, when in Rome. Or Washington. Whatever.

And whatever is exactly the attitude injured rookie Joel Embiid apparently took with the visit, rocking Giuseppe sneakers with his suit.

White House visit with the squad!

Look, it's not as if he's slumming it here - those are $1,125 shoes - but he stood out a bit from his cadre of sharply-dressed teammates. Maybe if Barack Obama had been around, Embiid would have gone with his best footwear, or maybe he was banking on real recognizing real.

You'll also notice that photo comes courtesy of Jason Richardson, who visited the White House as a rookie back when Harry Truman was in office.

In any case, it looks like the Sixers had a blast.

Just pondering my thoughts looking at all these books. #WhiteHouseSwag
