Pacers' Hibbert on Paul George: 'I've seen him do windmills. ... He's coming'

Uncertainty continues to surround Paul George, and when (or if) the Indiana Pacers' superstar forward will take the court this season.

George, who snapped his right leg back on Aug. 1, was initially optimistic he'd be able to return by mid-March. He then realized that date was unrealistic, then wondered whether his return might disrupt the scrappy Pacers' budding chemistry, then claimed he'd "passed all the tests" and was ready to get back.

The decision will ultimately be up to the Pacers' front office and medical staff, but at least one of George's teammates seems to agree that he's ready, based on George's performance in recent team practices.

"I've seen him do windmills," Roy Hibbert said, according to NBA.com's David Aldridge.

"Seeing the things he does in practice, it's awesome. He's coming. But I don't know what's going on with, I'm not a part of it. The training staff hasn't told us what they're planning on doing, and the front office doesn't. So they collectively talk. But the things he does in practice looks like the old PG, so whenever he comes back he'll be good. ... People are going to be surprised. He's going to have a big play his first couple of possessions back."

Other teammates are taking a more pragmatic view.

"He wants to play bad," said David West. "He's just got to be smart. He's got to be patient. He's got to get healthy. He's got 12 more years in this. You have to be smart about it."

And George understands that, as badly as he might want to return, there are people within the organization who have his best interests at heart and may be more qualified than him to make the right decision. His voice is just one of many.

"... It's not just me that has to feel good, everybody has to feel good about it," George said. "That's what we're waiting on. ... It could be close, it could be not but everybody's got to be on the same page with this."

Windmills, though. Windmills.
