The streak is over.

After leaving the Dallas Mavericks' 94-76 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Friday with a right calf injury, Monta Ellis' run of 237 active games played - the second-longest streak in the NBA - will come to an end Sunday as he's been ruled out of his team's contest versus the Indiana Pacers.

To make matters worse, Ellis - who was seen leaving the AT&T Center on crutches - doesn't have a set return date.

Coach Rick Carlisle told reporters after Friday's loss that the Mavericks wouldn't do anything foolish in terms of rushing him back until he's absolutely ready, acknowledging that the franchise needs Ellis for the playoffs.

Through 73 contests, Ellis is averaging 19.4 points, 4.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.7 steals per game.
