Nets' Young out again Sunday with knee strain

Bill Streicher / USA TODAY Sports

The Brooklyn Nets will be without Thaddeus Young for a second straight game, as expected, when they take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday.

Young suffered a strained left knee in Wednesday's victory over the Charlotte Hornets and was ruled out for Friday's game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, while his status for Sunday had originally been listed as doubtful.

The power forward is averaging 13.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.3 steals on 49.5 percent shooting and 48.6 percent 3-point shooting in 18 games with the Nets since being acquired from the Timberwolves at the trade deadline.

Young, who was included in the deal that sent Kevin Garnett back to Minnesota, had started Brooklyn's last 10 games before missing Friday's contest.

Mason Plumlee started in Young's place against the Cavs.
