NBA Game Summary - Washington at Golden State

Oakland, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Stephen Curry supplied 24 points with six assists as the Golden State Warriors used a strong third quarter to down the Washington Wizards, 107-76, on Monday night at Oracle Arena.

Marreese Speights had 16 points and Draymond Green added 13 points with six rebounds in the win.

Golden State, which has won eight of its last nine against Washington, swept its six-game homestand. The Warriors have won 11 of their last 12 games overall.

Bradley Beal, Kevin Seraphin and Ramon Sessions each had 12 to lead the Wizards, who lost their third straight game to close a four-game road trip.

It was a battle of the backcourts in the first quarter as Curry and John Wall went toe-to-toe over the opening 12 minutes. Curry netted 13 points, while Wall only contributed to the score sheet in the opening frame, recording 11 points. Golden State held a 27-24 lead entering the second.

The two teams tied the second quarter as the Warriors entered the locker room up 52-49 at half.

Although the game was competitive over the first two quarters, Golden State locked in on defense in the third and turned the game into a rout.

Washington, the NBA's third-best field goal shooting team, went 1-for-18 (5.6 percent) in the third quarter as the Warriors seized total control. Curry canned a pair of 3-pointers in succession to stretch the lead to 74-51 with 2 1/2 minutes left in the third.

Seraphin made the Wizards' lone field goal in the quarter with 1:02 remaining and the visitors trailed 81-57 after three.

"The shots started to fall as we got momentum and confidence in the third quarter and got our crowd into it," Curry said.

The Warriors rested their starters throughout the final frame as they coasted to the finish.
