Dwight Howard: (Knee) Nearing Return, Limitations Squelch Value

Howard (knee) is expected to return to game action "sooner rather than later" according to coach Kevin McHale, but Howard will also only play about 20 minutes per game and won't play in both games of back-to-back sets.

Analysis:

Howard's fantasy value continues to dry up like an unused sponge. There's a lot of surface volume there, but it's vacuous and dry inside, lacking the depth most would need from Howard to justify holding on to him in most fantasy leagues at this time. With the head-to-head playoffs in full effect, Howard's return may come as soon as Wednesday, but after this week, the Rockets have three back-to-back sets, from which Howard will miss one game, and it's unclear how long he'll have a minutes restriction. Managers in weekly leagues can stash him on the bench at their discretion, but managers in leagues with daily roster moves should be looking to dump Howard for someone that is going to be in action and playing a heaping helping of minutes from game to game.
