Pelicans' Evans returns Sunday

Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

Tyreke Evans of the New Orleans Pelicans will return to game action for the first time in almost a week on Sunday.

Evans missed the Pelicans' last game Tuesday with a sprained left ankle and has benefited from the team's four days off.

He will start against the Denver Nuggets.

With Jrue Holiday out indefinitely, Evans is a major cog for New Orleans, often handling the ball at the point alongside Eric Gordon. Evans ranks second on the team in points (16.8) and assists (6.5) per game, and the team has performed five points per-100 possessions better with him on the court as opposed to on the bench, according to Basketball Reference.
