Mike Conley out again Monday to rest ankle

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

Point guard Mike Conley will sit out Monday's contest against the Denver Nuggets to rest his injured right ankle, according to Rob Fischer of FOX Sports.

Conley tweaked his ankle during the Grizzlies' loss to the Boston Celtics last Wednesday. He has subsequently missed the team's last two games, and sitting against a lesser opponent in the Nuggets makes sense. The Nuggets themselves are resting multiple starters Monday, including Ty Lawson and Kenneth Faried.

In his eighth season, Conley is posting yet another excellent campaign, averaging 16.3 points, 5.3 assists and 1.3 steals per game while playing top-notch perimeter defense.
