Blake Griffin: (Elbow) Will Not Play Friday

Griffin (elbow) will not play Friday against the Mavericks, Dan Woike of the Orange County Register reports.

Analysis:

Griffin has not played since Feb. 6 after needing surgery on his right shoulder due to a staph infection and will now miss his 15th game since suffering the injury. He could return as soon as Sunday against the Rockets or Tuesday against the Hornets. Through the 51 games he has played this season, Griffin has averaged 21.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 0.9 steals, 0.4 blocks, and 0.2 three-pointers in 35 minutes per game. Although he is shooting a career-best 38 percent from beyond the arc, the fact that he's only attempting 0.4 shots from deep limits the value of his increased efficiency.
