Wizards' Nene a late scratch Wednesday for personal reasons

David Manning / USA TODAY Sports

With their national television game against the Memphis Grizzlies just minutes away from tip-off, the Washington Wizards made starting center Nene Hilario a late scratch due to personal reasons.

Nene, who missed time earlier this season due to plantar fasciitis, is averaging 11.3 points, five rebounds, two assists and 1.1 steals on 52 percent shooting.

The Grizzlies will also be shorthanded, as the Western Conference's second-place team will be without the services of Marc Gasol, Mike Conley, Zach Randolph and Tony Allen.
