Bulls' Noah out Wednesday with sore knee

Sam Sharpe-USA TODAY Sports

Being shorthanded is nothing new for the Chicago Bulls, but the already depleted team received another blow Wednesday.

Joakim Noah will not be available against the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday due to left knee soreness, joining Derrick Rose (knee), Jimmy Butler (elbow) and Taj Gibson (ankle) on the sidelines.

Noah, who underwent arthroscopic surgery on the knee last May, had finally looked like he was returning to full health before this latest setback. The good news is that the reigning Defensive Player of the Year doesn't sound too concerned.

Keep in mind, too, the Bulls are playing their fourth game in five nights and the 14-49 Sixers are always a prime candidate for resting stars against.

That said, Philadelphia did stun the Eastern Conference-leading Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night after the Hawks decided to rest three of their starters.

The Bulls enter Wednesday sitting third in the East.
