Hawks rest Millsap, Korver, Carroll Saturday vs. Sixers

Jason Getz / USA TODAY Sports

Fresh off of an impressive home victory over the surging Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday, the league-leading Atlanta Hawks are giving some of their starters some much deserved rest Saturday night in Philadelphia. Paul Millsap, Kyle Korver and DeMarre Carroll will all sit out the game against the lowly 76ers.

The Hawks' have the luxury of being able to rest their stars virtually whenever they want down the stretch, as they've built an 11-game lead over second-place Chicago in the Eastern Conference standings and a 14.5-game lead over the Washington Wizards in the Southeast Division.

The only thing the Hawks won't be able to cake walk to is home court advantage throughout the playoffs, as the Golden State Warriors are only a half-game behind in the battle for the No. 1 overall seed, but it's unlikely Atlanta will worry much about that in their quest to keep players fresh for April, May and possibly June.
