VIDEO: Gasol gives Grizzlies last-second win over Rockets

Troy Taormina-USA TODAY Sports

The Memphis Grizzlies have a knack for beating good teams, and Marc Gasol's fallaway with 0.1 seconds left to beat the Rockets in Houston on Wednesday added to that trend.

MARC GASOL GAME-WINNER

With the win, the Grizzlies are 18-7 against the top 10 teams in the Western Conference. Gasol finished with 21 points to help Memphis rebound from Tuesday's shorthanded loss to the Utah Jazz

The Rockets, meanwhile, were also on night two of a back-to-back, and once again the result was not optimal. And much like Tuesday's collapse against the Atlanta Hawks, Houston had a bone to pick with referees in the second half.

They may have had a legitimate point on Wednesday, though. With the score tied at 100 with six seconds left, James Harden was clearly fouled when hit in the face by Courtney Lee, but there was no call.

Gasol went on to win the game at the other end, and Rockets coach Kevin McHale was livid with officials. After the game, he was matter-of-fact about it.

"We did what we wanted to do," McHale told reporters after the game. "We tried to get to the rim and they didn't call the foul."

Harden sounded more annoyed.

"I don't know what to say," said Harden. "It's frustrating, man, when you fight so hard to come back and you have an opportunity to win the game and it's frustrating."

Harden had a low (for him) 18 points, a total which combined with Russell Westbrook's 49-point explosion against Philadelphia gives Westbrook the NBA scoring lead over Harden by 0.1 points.

The Beard did dish out 13 assists in his return from a one-game suspension, while Terrence Jones put up another solid game for Houston with 21 points and nine rebounds.
