New Orleans Pelicans (32-27) at Dallas Mavericks (39-22), 8:30 p.m. (ET)

(SportsNetwork.com) - The New Orleans Pelicans will take their five-game winning streak to American Airlines Center Monday night when they face the Dallas Mavericks.

The Pelicans lost their first game after the All-Star break, but haven't looked back since. They won three in a row at home and two consecutive road game.

What makes this run surprising and impressive, is that Anthony Davis has been sidelined with a shoulder injury. Ryan Anderson (knee) and Jrue Holiday (leg) have also been gone during this run.

On Sunday, the Pelicans toppled the Denver Nuggets, 99-92, at the Pepsi Center.

Tyreke Evans stuffed the stat sheet with 22 points, seven rebounds and seven assists to lead New Orleans, which is a half-game behind the Oklahoma City Thunder for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Eric Gordon scored 18 points, Dante Cunningham gave 14 and Omer Asik pulled down 16 rebounds for the Pelicans, who are tied with Houston for the longest current win streak in the league.

"I thought our defense was decent tonight," said Pelicans coach Monty Williams. "Offensively, we were out of sync in the first half. The second half, Tyreke and Eric got going."

The Pelicans return home Wednesday to start a three-game homestand with visits from Detroit, Boston and Memphis on the docket.

The Mavericks have lost two straight after a three-game winning streak. They fell in Atlanta on Wednesday, then lost at home to the Brooklyn Nets, 104-94, Saturday.

Dirk Nowitzki ended with 20 points and six rebounds for the Mavericks. Devin Harris added 14 points and Al-Farouq Aminu and Monta Ellis had 12 points apiece.

"It was just one of those nights," said Ellis. "The ball wouldn't go in the hole. Missed a lot of easy layups and it's like that sometimes."

Rajon Rondo finished with eight points, seven rebounds and six assists in his return from a one-game suspension. Dallas suspended Rondo for Wednesday's 104-87 loss at Atlanta after he and coach Rick Carlisle exchanged words the night before in the third quarter of a 99-92 home win over Toronto.

Chandler Parsons is expected to miss another game with a sprained left ankle. Tyson Chandler missed the Brooklyn game with a sore left ankle and is more likely to play on Monday than Parsons is.

The Pelicans beat the Mavs by three in New Orleans on Jan. 25 to snap a nine- game series losing streak. Dallas has won four straight over the Pelicans in Big D.
