PHOTO: LeBron takes sad selfie, sends self-motivational message after loss

Poor LeBron James.

Not only did he miss two free throw attempts that could have forced overtime in a loss to the Houston Rockets on Sunday, he also took a literal shot below the belt during the game and a figurative one afterward.

The tough day at the office had the Cleveland Cavaliers superstar quite pensive Sunday night, with James taking to the mirror and to Instagram to make himself feel better. The result was a selfie that would make my high school self blush for how emo it is, and a motivational message that we're all our own biggest obstacles. Preach.

At least James is keeping the faith and getting back to work rather than sulking for too long. If he still finds himself sad on Monday morning, someone may just need to remind him who he is.

LEBRON JAMES

Despite the second consecutive loss, the Cavs remain in good shape. They've moved to 37-24 thanks to an 18-4 stretch, they're fourth in the Eastern Conference and just a game out of second. Their offense has risen to fifth in the league, third since the calendar turned, and their defense has trended in the right direction.

And James has been James, reminding everyone that no matter how good anyone else may be playing, he's always in the MVP conversation. Since returning from an eight-game absence due to a knee injury, he's averaging 27.6 points, 6.5 rebounds, 6.7 assists and 1.9 steals while shooting 49.1 percent from the field.
