Kings' Cousins remains out with ankle, hip injuries

Brad Penner-USA TODAY Sports

The Sacramento Kings will once again be without All-Star DeMarcus Cousins for Sunday's contest against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Cousins is set to miss his second consecutive game with a left ankle sprain and left hip contusion, the team announced.

The Kings fell to 2-11 without Cousins after dropping Friday's contest to the San Antonio Spurs, 107-96.

Cousins is averaging a team-leading 23.7 points and 12.2 rebounds in 43 games. He ranks fifth in the league in scoring and third in rebounds, while blocking a career-high 1.7 blocks per game.

Carl Landry received the start in place of Cousins on Friday, scoring eight points while grabbing five rebounds in 18 minutes.

Cousins' next chance to play will come Tuesday on the road against the New York Knicks
